How to Apply

Complete the Application Form

 

You must complete the current coursework application form, including all essential documentation (such as your CV and academic transcripts) and lodge the application with the Postgraduate Student Administration Unit. For a copy of this form and details of the required documentation see the Postgraduate Student Administration Unit’s Application Procedures.

In the case of international students the application should be lodged with the International Office.

Entry Requirements

 

To qualify for admission, you will normally have completed an undergraduate degree at the University of Sydney or another recognised institution. In some instances the admission requirements for a graduate certificate may be met on the basis of equivalent professional experience in a relevant field.

You are also required to have access to a clinical setting or recent experience in a clinical setting.

Credit for Previous Study

 

Credit for previous study should be requested together with your application for admission. To apply for credit you must complete the Request for Exemption or Advanced Standing for Coursework Study form. Closing Dates for Applications

 

Local Students:
31 January for commencement in Semester 1 (March)

International Students:
31 October for commencement in Semester 1 (March)

Course Fees

 

Fees are normally paid at the beginning of each year for the units of study being taken in that year.

Fee structure for 2008:

     
 Master of Medical Education  8 units of study (i.e. 48 credit points)  $18,480 (local)
$30,240 (international) 
 Graduate Diploma in Medical Education  6 units of study (i.e. 36 credit points)  $13,860 (local)
$22,680 (international) 
 Graduate Certificate in Medical Education  4 units of study (i.e. 24 credit points)  $9,240 (local)
$15,120 (international) 

($385 per credit point for local students: one unit of study = 6 credit points)

($630 per credit point for International students: one unit of study= 6 credit points)

Course fees are adjusted annually. It is anticipated that this will be in accordance with the Australian Consumer Price Index (CPI).

Outcome of Your Application

 

The Postgraduate Student Administration Unit will contact you in writing once a decision has been made regarding your application. If your application has been successful, you will be sent an ‘offer of admission’ letter providing details of your candidature. This letter should be checked carefully and any questions about the terms of the offer should be referred to the Unit. Unsuccessful applicants will also receive written notification.
